Cadiz & El Puerto
You have two options to go to Cadiz
- Going to Cadiz by car. Turning around the bay area by car (45 minutes) and having the risk to pay your parking a little bit expensive in the center of Cadiz. Furthermore, this motorway is not that interesting!
- Going to el Puerto de Santa Maria (20 minutes from Jerez de la Frontera), leaving the car at the ferry terminal in the city center(parking is included with your ferry return ticket) and getting the ferry that bring you directly to the historical center
Yes, we do recommend the second option

You can usually park in the street, right at the beginning of the street of the pier, the parking of the pier is now 1,5 euros / hour.
Cadiz, more than other andalucia cities are worthy to visit late in the morning and late in the afternoon. Strangely, it looks like very much dead outside of these moments (this is the feedback of our guests)
In Cadiz, you cannot miss the local market (Mercado Central de Abastos) very lively every morning and where you can also have nice tapa+drink inside. At Plaza de la Libertad.

It may look a Little bit wild because they serve sausage and ham on a sheet of paper directly on the counter, but it is still worthy

Better make a reservation beforehand if you want a table, they have very few of them and more space on the bar.The gastronomic menu is a good option to our opinion.

It is a little bit more expensive than a classical bar / restaurant of the area but the experience to us is really worthy
The chef belongs to the club of young chef in Spain and tries to provide an inventive cuisine with around the area products. His wife is in charge of the guests.

They gained their second star in the Michelin guide, so obtaining a table for dinner or lunch is quite difficult. But everything is out of the normal. The restaurant serves uniquely products coming from the sea, but they make unbelievable things out of it.
This has a price : 200 / 300 euros per person that is quite unreasonable for the area (even in France)
