From Jerez it is not compulsory to take the car to go to Sevilla (where parking is always expensive and complicated), but taking the train will bring you almost in the city center in 60 minutes for less than 20 euros return ticket, then you can walk, take a bus or a taxi to the city center
If you go by car, do not hesitate to ask us where to park for free. We have some tips we’ve been using for many years. Parking in Seville can become a nightmare very easily.
The historical center is roughly oval shaped, at the north you have the church of Macarena, in the middle the city hall and in the south cathedral, Maria luisa park, jews historical area … all the main touristic spots. Bear in mind that the half south part of the oval (from cathedral to the city hall) is solely dedicated to tourism, so on a bar and restaurant point of view it is pretty often overpriced, frozen food poorly put together in a plate
The north part of the oval is actually where people from Sevilla live, so you’ll find 90 percent of our recommendations there!
Our favorite of the moment in Sevilla are:
Calle Eslava 3, Tel : 954 90 65 68
The bar is very popular and waiting to have a table outside is quite common, or you ll have to come son. Their tapas are innovative and traditional. They work very well eggs and mushroom. The restaurant is excellent as well but price have really increased for the past two years
Calle Jesus del Gran Poder, 31, Tel: 955 116 748
This is the flagship of 4 restaurants they have. We really enjoyed the quality of products this restaurant use, mainly from the sea (Thanks to the chef from Sanlucar de Barrameda) but not only, They do have an amaizing T Bone as well. Everything is good to excellent EASY !
They don’t accept reservervation and open the kitchen at 20h30, so coming over around that time is necessary. You Can as well eat at the bar directly.
Calle san Luis 50 Tel: 954 91 66 33
You ll need to reserve there. The kitchen is open-view on the restaurant and they work only season products in front of you. One of our favorite because they have a mix of innovative simple cuisine made with fresh tasty product? It is now compulsory reserve over internet with a credit car number ! New management most probably, but the menu and the team in the kitchen remain the same
Calle trajano 16, Tel : 954 38 88 10
This is a kitchen atmosphere in a trendy down to earth restaurant. We had amazing surprises and not so well clean mussels (but it is quite difficult) Sorry for being fuzzy ! Nevertheless, we come back here.
Calle José Gestoso, 19, 41003 Sevilla, Tel.: 954 87 02 98
Eating good fish is not so easy in Sevilla at a reasonable price. We have bee badly raised in Sanlucar de barrameda on the coast, so we know a little bit about fish, shrimp… This is a good experience if you don t have the chance to come close to the coast.
Plaza Padre Jerónimo de Córdoba, 11, 41003 Sevilla, Tel.: 954 60 00 16
The house by itself is interesting because it was a large house and they kept the excact stucture of the house for the restaurant (Kitchen is upstairs), so you can have dinner in one of the bedrooms upstairs,on of the living room downstairs or in the patio. Cuisine is often charcoal based and we tried an iberic pork burger with fat leaver and boletus ( very good just order that in the evening !) with an homeade puré on the side and a confit “secreto” iberic pork (6 hours slowy cooked) then caramelized with BBQ vegetables. Yes is it awesome On the other hand : just forget about desert much better to say they don’t have Compensate with a good bottle of wine !
Calle Águilas, 6, 41004 Sevilla, Tel : 691 88 54 27
A very good option in Sevilla for this gastronomic bar that recentently bought the shop on the side to increase the number of table. Most of the main dish can be asked in tapas format that allow you to test more of their menu. The menu is very much orientated on the sea but not solely. Wine menu is definitely worthy and a couple clasical of desert can be tried. What a pity that the imagination of the menu does not end with a firework of desert. We did like very much the ambiance, if you reserve a table around 9p you will be with many foreigners, if you have diner around 11pm you ll be essentially with locals LOL it is up to you to live the sevillan life or not.
What about to begin an evening or to end it with an amazing cocktail in a very cosy bar
